I started my career with the Bureau of Reclamation my senior year of high school as a student aide at the Minidoka Dam. I worked at the Dam for eight years as a Staff Assistant before transferring to the Burley office in the Operations and Maintenance Group. I had the opportunity to travel a little and visit a lot of dam and powerplant sites. About seven years ago, I transferred into the Water Group as a Hydrologic Technician; we were responsible for daily river operations from Jackson, Wyoming, to Milner, and power scheduling for Southern Idaho. During that time, I decided to go back to school, so I spent the next two years earning my Bachelors Degree in Business Management through the University of Phoenix online. Then four years ago, I again changed my career focus to Reclamation water rights. I have now worked for the Bureau of Reclamation for 20 years. I know, pretty strange for someone who hated science and math, huh???
During that time, I married in September 1992 and inherited my step son, Levi. In Septemer 1993, our first son, Tyler, was born, and his brother, TJ, followed in 1994.
We just started to shift our focus on becoming "empty nesters" in the next few years when our daughter, Tanner, decided to join us in July of last year. I guess better late than never!!
In my spare time (ha! ha!) I enjoy watching my boys in their sports and my husband with his team roping. Occasionally, I still sneak a ride or two in on my horse, also! I have coached 7th grade volleyball for the past three years, and I currently work in the Young Womens program at church--never a dull moment!
